WHAT IS THE PROCESS?
1.You choose a base color, film pattern, and clear finish that you would like us to apply to your item.
2.We start out by prepping your item with the base coat color you chose. This base color will show through the clear parts of the film pattern you choose.
3.We cut the film pattern you choose and lay it on the surface of the water in one of our water transfer printing tanks.
4.We dip your item slowly into the floating ink pattern which wraps completely around your item.
5.Your item is air dried.
6.We spray an ultra durable hydrographics clear coat over the new finish to maximize durability and seal it.
7.This process usually takes 2 to 3 days to complete.
8.You get your new custom item back and prepare for the wave of compliments to come!
how scratch resistant is the finished product?
The final clear coat we use is the same finish applied to automotive exteriors. It has been tested and proven for years and has excellent results.
what types of items can be dipped?
A variety of flat or 3-D shapes and materials (plastics, metals, glass, wood, etc.) can be printed. Depending on the size and shape of the object, it may require additional dipping procedures.
Is Hydro Dipping Durable?
We like to let our product speak for itself. Some of our largest clientèle are large manufacturers who demand highest standards of quality and durability. Many parts we manufacture spend the majority of their lives in direct exposure, such as boat instrument panels. The clear coat we use is automotive grade, created specifically for Hydrographic Dipping, designed to withstand nature and harsh elements.
What is Hydro Dipping?
Hydrographics has many different names. Some of the names include Water Transfer Printing, Immersion Printing, Camo Dipping, and Hydro Dipping.. Now what can hydrographics be applied to? Well, we can hydro dip nearly any 3D object made of plastic, wood, glass, or metal. Generally, if an object can be painted and briefly submerged in water, it can be dipped! Some of the most popular items we dip are guns, bows, skulls, automotive parts (interior & exterior), wheels, computer cases, ATV/UTV parts, R/C parts, household items, and anything else you may want to customize! Your items can be shipped to us or dropped off for dipping.
